Prime Minister Narendra Modi launches Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat Scheme:
Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shree Narendra Modi has launched a new program named Ek Bharat, Sreshtha Bharat. It was the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on 31st October 2015, when The Prime Minister took the call. This day is celebrated as Rashtriya Ekta Divas. This program will help in connecting all the diversities of India, unifying them and build a strong nation.
India is the 7th largest country of the world and 2nd largest populated one next to China, with a population of nearly 1.27 Billion. There are 29 states and 7 union territories in India. India is famous for its rich diversity in terms of religion, language, culture and tradition, history, climate, food habits, occupations, etc. Each state, even each district, has its own language, culture and way of living. So to make a strong nation it is very important to connect all the people of all states with each other and bring a strong bond of brotherhood among them. This will help in making the unity and integrity of the country strong.
The basic idea is that each year a state will connect to another state and both will take part in mutual exchange of culture, food, festivals, books and literary meets, etc. For example in 2016, West Bengal connects with Assam in this program. Both states will cordially exchange and connect the culture, traditions, festivals, etc. Both states will encourage tourism of the other and vice versa. For example, West Bengal will host Bihu dance programs and Assam will have literary meet with the writers and poets of Bengal. Next year West Bengal will connect to some other state, say it Rajasthan.
There is also a contest called ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ launched in the official webpage of Govt. of India- MyGov.in. Citizens all over the India can submit their ideas along with details which may help in achieving the goal of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat. Only original entries in PDF format can be submitted along with a detailed description of the idea. The last date of submission is 10th Dec, 2015. The winners will receive certificates directly from The Prime Minister. There are also cash prizes to be won. The first prize is of Rs 1 lakh, followed by Rs. 75,000 and Rs. 50, 000 for the second and third positions respectively.
Prime Minister has urged the nation to make this movement a people’s movement by taking active participation in it. This should not only remain as Govt.’s policy. Thus India will become one united, strong nation.
